With a population of just over 3,000, West Lake Hills is a small town in every sense of the word. This tight-knit community is known for its award-winning schools, Friday night football games, and locally-owned stores.

It boasts some of the area's highest concentrations of hillside homes and is known for its tree-lined streets and waterfront properties. West Lake Hills is also known for Rudy’s “Country Store” and Bar-B-Q, a popular barbeque restaurant chain. Try their brisket or pulled pork sandwiches, and don’t forget to use their automatic hand-washing machine, my favorite.

With its easy access to parks and nature preserves, you will be closer than ever to your next outdoor adventure. One of Austin’s most popular outdoor activities is the Barton Creek Greenbelt, the heart of Austin’s elaborate trail system. The Greenbelt is popular with cyclists, hikers, and joggers throughout the city, and a large part of the trail system runs through West Lake Hills.
